We are looking for a Senior Curriculum Designer - English / ELA who can design engaging, rigorous, and age-appropriate English Language Arts learning experiences for school students.

About the RoleAs a Senior Curriculum Designer - English / ELA, you will own the design and development of English curriculum and lesson content across relevant grade levels.

The role covers more than creating worksheets or lesson plans. You will think deeply about how students build reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, and communication skills over time.

You will translate these learning goals into structured, engaging lessons that teachers can deliver effectively and students can enjoy.

You will work closely with teachers, academic leaders, product, and operations teams to continuously improve curriculum quality and student learning outcomes.

What You Will Do

- Design end-to-end English / ELA curriculum across relevant grades, including learning objectives, scope and sequence, lesson structure, practice, and assessments.
- Create high-quality lesson plans, teacher guides, student-facing content, worksheets, reading passages, writing prompts, activities, assignments, quizzes, and assessments.
- Build strong learning progression across reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening.
- Design lessons that improve comprehension, expression, creativity, critical thinking, and communication.
- Select and create age-appropriate fiction, nonfiction, informational, and contextual reading material.
- Design reading comprehension activities that go beyond recall and develop inference, interpretation, reasoning, and analysis.




- Create structured writing activities covering sentence building, paragraph writing, creative writing, persuasive writing, descriptive writing, and other age-appropriate forms.
- Integrate grammar and vocabulary naturally into communication-focused learning rather than teaching them only as isolated rules.
- Develop speaking and listening activities that help students become confident and articulate communicators.
- Define clear learning outcomes and assessment rubrics for reading, writing, speaking, and other language skills.
- Review student performance data, teacher feedback, and classroom observations to identify learning gaps and improve curriculum.
- Continuously improve existing curriculum based on student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Work closely with teachers to understand classroom challenges and ensure lessons are practical and effective.
- Create teacher notes, model answers, sample responses, rubrics, differentiation strategies, and remediation guidance.
- Benchmark curriculum against strong national and international ELA standards and frameworks.
- Ensure consistency in language quality, instructional approach, difficulty progression, and academic rigor.
- Review and provide feedback on content created by other curriculum team members, writers, and freelancers.
- Explore how AI and technology can improve writing feedback, reading practice, personalization, assessment, and curriculum creation.

What We Are Looking For

- Strong academic foundation in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Education, Communication, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in English / ELA curriculum design, teaching, curriculum development, educational publishing, EdTech, instructional design, or a related field.




- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing instruction.
- Strong understanding of how language skills develop across different age groups.
- Ability to make English learning engaging, structured, and relevant for school students.
- Strong editorial judgment and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to evaluate the quality, difficulty, clarity, and age appropriateness of written content.
- Experience creating structured lesson plans, learning activities, assessments, and rubrics.
- Ability to independently own curriculum projects from concept to launch.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving workplace where curriculum is continuously tested and improved.

Good to Have

- Experience teaching English / ELA to school students.
- Experience with Common Core ELA, Cambridge, IB, or other international curricula.
- Experience designing English content for online learning.
- Experience with reading-level frameworks, literacy development, or structured writing pedagogy.
- Experience designing speaking, public speaking, or communication-skills curriculum.
- Experience using learning data to improve curriculum.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and AI-assisted content creation or evaluation.
- Experience managing or reviewing content created by writers, teachers, or curriculum developers.
