About Applix

Applix is a technology and engineering solutions company focused on delivering innovative software, digital engineering, and technology services. We work with global clients to solve complex engineering challenges through skilled talent, technical expertise, and customer-focused execution.

About the Role

Applix is looking for an experienced QA/Automation Engineer 3 – Telematics Systems Validation to join its Telematics Systems Validation team.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, embedded software validation, test automation, and electronic control systems. The candidate will be responsible for independently driving validation activities, developing complex test scenarios, maintaining HIL environments, and identifying system-level defects across telematics software.

The ideal candidate should have strong Python automation capabilities, experience troubleshooting HIL benches, and the ability to analyze complex system behavior under normal and fault conditions.

Experience with dSPACE HIL platforms, MATLAB, and Simulink is highly mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze complex telematics system and software requirements and independently develop comprehensive, traceable validation strategies and test cases.
- Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system-level, negative, fault-injection, and regression test scenarios using HIL environments.
- Configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain HIL test benches, hardware interfaces, wiring harnesses, and plant models.
- Independently manage HIL validation activities and ensure the reliability and stability of test environments.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable Python-based automated test frameworks and reusable test suites.
- Analyze complex logs, network traces, diagnostic data, and system behavior to identify software defects and performance issues.
- Perform detailed debugging and root-cause investigations to distinguish product-level defects from hardware, configuration, or simulation-related issues.
- Support defect reproduction, technical investigation, corrective validation, retesting, and closure.
- Identify gaps in existing test coverage and recommend improvements to validation strategies and automation frameworks.
- Maintain test documentation, execution reports, requirement traceability,

and validation status.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, hardware teams, and global stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Proactively communicate project progress, technical risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Drive continuous improvements in test execution efficiency, automation coverage, and overall validation quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Instrumentation, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in HIL testing, embedded software validation, electronic controls, test automation, or system-level verification.
- Strong hands-on experience in HIL test bench configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong Python programming and test automation experience, including developing reusable automation scripts and test suites.
- Proven ability to interpret complex technical requirements and independently develop comprehensive validation scenarios.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, ECUs, electronic interfaces, and control systems.
- Experience executing functional, integration, system, negative, fault-injection, and regression testing.
- Strong debugging, log analysis, defect identification, and root-cause investigation skills.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, test methodologies, and defect management processes.
- Ability to independently manage validation activities and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams.
