We work across the entire product development and sourcing value chain, from supplier identification and product development to quality assurance, production management and shipment coordination.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Merchandiser – Home Furnishings with 3–5 years of relevant experience in the home furnishings category.

The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end merchandising activities, coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers, developing products as per buyer requirements, negotiating costs and ensuring timely execution of orders while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Sourcing

- Identify and develop new products in the home furnishings category.
- Work closely with factories and vendors for product development, sampling and costing.
- Understand buyer specifications, trends, materials, construction and finishes.
- Explore new suppliers and manufacturing capabilities to expand the sourcing base.

Merchandising & Order Management
- Handle end-to-end merchandising activities from inquiry to shipment.
- Prepare costing sheets, quotations, product specifications and order confirmations.
- Follow up on samples, approvals, production timelines and shipment schedules.
- Ensure timely execution of orders as per buyer requirements.

Costing & Negotiation
- Obtain and analyse factory quotations.
- Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers while maintaining quality and margins.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through material and process optimisation.

Quality & Production Coordination




- Coordinate with factories on production planning and execution.
- Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to approved samples and specifications.
- Work closely with quality teams to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with buyer standards.

Buyer & Vendor Coordination
- Maintain effective communication with international buyers and Indian suppliers.
- Share regular updates on product development, sampling and order status.
- Coordinate internally to ensure smooth execution of all merchandising activities.

Desired Category Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience in one or more of the following home furnishings categories:
- Cushions, cushion covers and throws
- Bed linen, quilts and comforters
- Curtains and window furnishings
- Table linen and kitchen textiles
- Rugs, mats and floor coverings
- Decorative textiles and soft home accessories

Candidate Profile

- 3–5 years of merchandising experience in the home furnishings industry.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, materials, construction, printing, embroidery and finishing techniques.
- Experience in product development, costing, sampling and order execution.
- Good negotiation, communication and coordination skills.
- Strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with export houses, sourcing offices or buying houses will be preferred.
