We’re looking for a Manager – Compliance to join DWF in Pune. This is an prospect to combine your legal and taxation expertise with people leadership, stakeholder management and technology-enabled research, while contributing to high-quality legal, regulatory and taxation research delivery. The underlying JD places particular emphasis on accurate, timely and client-ready research.
Responsibilities In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead the delivery of legal, regulatory and taxation research, ensuring work is accurate, timely and ready for clients and stakeholders.
- Research and interpret legislation, regulations, case law, tax rules and regulatory guidance across relevant jurisdictions.
- Analyse complex developments and turn them into clear, structured and actionable insights.
- Manage stakeholder queries, research clarifications, delivery risks and escalations through effective communication.
- Support quality assurance and continuously improve research methodologies, processes and delivery standards.
- Manage workloads, priorities and team capacity while supporting the development of research capability across the team.
- Identify opportunities to improve research workflows using legal databases, Power BI, SharePoint, automation and AI-enabled research solutions.
What will help you succeed in this role?
You could be a great fit if you bring:
- 5–7+ years of relevant experience in compliance, legal research, regulatory research, taxation, legal operations or a related professional-services environment.
- A law degree, along with a strong grounding in legal research and taxation.
- Strong experience interpreting legislation, regulations, case law, tax rules and official regulatory sources.
- Strong client/stakeholder-facing and people-management skills, with the confidence to manage priorities and complex deliverables.
- Excellent analytical judgement, legal writing, summarisation and attention to detail.
- Exposure to global taxation or cross-border transactions would be preferred.
- Exposure to legal research platforms, regulatory-monitoring tools, Power BI, SharePoint, workflow automation or AI-enabled research solutions would be an advantage.
