Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for Microbiologists at Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., based at the sterile plant in Haridwar. The role involves routine microbiological testing of sterile products, raw materials, and in-process samples, as well as environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and critical manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities include handling and maintaining laboratory equipment, performing sterility tests, bioburden tests, and microbial limit tests, and ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and good laboratory practices.



Microbiologists will support quality control and quality assurance activities by documenting results, assisting in investigations, and complying with regulatory and company standards. Coordination with production, QA, and other teams to support batch release, audits, and continuous improvement in microbiological controls is a key part of the role.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Microbiology knowledge and Laboratory Skills relevant to sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Laboratory Equipment used in microbiological testing and environmental monitoring.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control skills for routine testing, documentation, and compliance with standards.
- Candidates should possess Quality Assurance awareness to support investigations, CAPA, and audit readiness.
- Preferred education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology or a related life science discipline.
- 0–2 years of experience in a sterile or injectable pharmaceutical plant, or relevant internship/industrial training.
- Understanding of aseptic practices, cleanroom classifications, and basic regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP).
- Solid attention to detail, ability to follow SOPs, and willingness to work in shift-based schedules if required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
