Fashion Designer & Illustrator
(In-house | Full-time | In office – Noida)
Every piece we make begins as a sketch: a silhouette, a motif, an idea of the woman who’ll wear it. We’re looking for the hand that draws it first and sees it through to the final stitch.
Lehenga Lovestory is an ethnic fashion house with bridal at its heart. Our pieces are hand-embroidered, made to order, and built on craftsmanship, emotion and thoughtful detail. We dress every woman at the celebration: the bride, her mother, her sisters and her closest friends.
We’re hiring a full-time Fashion Designer & Illustrator to take designs from first sketch to finished garment.
This role is for a designer who draws beautifully and understands how a garment is actually made.
Your Role
You’ll turn ideas and client conversations into illustrations, khakas and specs that our karigars can build from. You’ll work closely with our founders and the production floor, so that what we promise on paper is what she wears on the day.
What You’ll Work On
- Illustrate collection and made-to-order designs by hand and digitally, from quick concept sketches to presentation renders
- Develop khakas and embroidery layouts that are clear, accurate and ready for the karigar
- Build specs covering silhouette, measurements, fabric, trims and embroidery detail
- Join client design sessions and translate what she wants into a design she can see
- Source and match fabrics, trims and swatches, and approve samples against the design
- Coordinate with karigars and vendors, track timelines, and resolve issues on the floor
- Keep the design library and production documents complete, so every piece can be traced and remade
Who This Role Is For
- A designer with a confident hand and a real eye for Indian craft, embroidery and drape
- Someone who cares as much about the khaka as the final render
- Calm with clients, clear with karigars, and comfortable moving between the two
- Organised and dependable, someone who treats deadlines as fixed
- Drawn to celebration, and to designing for the woman rather than the trend
Skills & Tools
- Strong foundations: a degree in fashion or textile design from NIFT, Pearl, NID or a comparable institute
- 4+ years designing Indian bridal or occasion wear for a label, atelier or design house
- Strong hand illustration, with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; Procreate or CLO 3D is a plus
- Working knowledge of embroidery techniques, pattern, fit and the production process
- Communication is a no-compromise: English and Hindi, verbal and written
What You’ll Gain
- Ownership of how a young fashion house designs, from sketch to finished piece
- Close collaboration with the founders and a small, close-knit team
- Real craft to work with: hand embroidery, couture fittings and made-to-order commissions
- Room to grow as the brand does, from individual commissions today to full collections tomorrow
How to Apply
Apply with your portfolio, including at least one khaka and specs of the collection, and tell us in one line which piece in it you’re proudest of.
