Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Duty Doctor role located in Basti.

The Duty

Doctor will provide round-the-clock medical care, including assessing patients, ordering and interpreting basic investigations, initiating treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress. The role involves managing emergency and outpatient cases, stabilizing critical patients, and coordinating with senior physicians and specialist teams as needed. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and infection control standards, and communicating clearly with patients, families, and the wider care team.

The Duty





Doctor will also support hospital workflows by participating in handovers, following duty rosters, and contributing to a safe and efficient clinical environment.

Qualifications

- Relevant medical degree (e.g., MBBS) from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and acute care management across common medical and surgical conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in emergency and inpatient settings, including triage, stabilization, and timely escalation to senior doctors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for clear interaction with patients, families, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient confidentiality, and adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Capacity to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to remain calm and organized under pressure.
- Basic proficiency in electronic or paper-based medical documentation and readiness to follow established clinical protocols.
- Prior experience as a Duty Doctor or in a hospital setting is preferred but motivated early-career professionals are also encouraged to apply.
