Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at Weskill is a remote internship designed for individuals interested in learning and contributing to modern security practices. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting in vulnerability assessments, monitoring basic security events, and supporting the review of application and network security controls under supervision. The intern will help document security incidents, update security procedures, and contribute to research on emerging cyber threats and best practices.

This role also involves collaborating with mentors and team members, participating in training sessions,



and preparing reports or summaries of security findings to support ongoing improvement of Weskill’s learning workplace.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess foundational skills in Cybersecurity and Cyber concepts, including awareness of common threats and security frameworks.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, such as understanding of firewalls, basic network protocols, and secure network design principles.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including familiarity with secure coding principles and common web application vulnerabilities.
- Candidates should possess skills in Information Security, including data protection, access control, and basic risk management concepts.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity) or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow security guidelines, and work responsibly in a remote environment.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to security tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM, or network monitoring tools) and basic scripting or programming experience is a plus.
