Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at Weskill is an internship position designed to provide practical exposure to core cybersecurity concepts and practices. This is a remote role, where the intern will assist in monitoring systems and networks for potential security issues, help analyze security alerts, and support incident documentation under the guidance of senior team members. Day-to-day tasks may include conducting basic vulnerability research, reviewing application and network security configurations, and contributing to the creation of security awareness content and documentation.

The intern will also collaborate with mentors and peers, participate in training sessions,



and apply learned concepts to real or simulated security scenarios to build foundational experience in the cybersecurity domain.

Qualifications

- Foundational skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with an understanding of key security principles and best practices.
- Interest or basic knowledge in Network Security, including concepts like firewalls, secure protocols, and network monitoring.
- Exposure to or coursework in Application Security, such as secure coding practices and common application vulnerabilities.
- General familiarity with the cyber threat landscape and an eagerness to explore topics related to Cyber and digital risk.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow security guidelines, and pay close attention to detail when reviewing technical information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with clear written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment and collaborating effectively with mentors and team members.
- Basic understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals, and common security tools is beneficial.
