Role Description The Cost Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing cost planning and control across residential real estate projects. This position includes preparing and reviewing cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs; tracking project expenditures; and analyzing variances to keep projects within approved financial parameters.

The Cost

Manager collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance to validate vendor quotations, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effective construction methods. Day-to-day responsibilities also include monitoring contracts, updating cost reports, supporting tender evaluations, and providing clear cost-related insights to leadership for decision-making. The role requires meticulous documentation,



adherence to company standards, and proactive identification of cost risks and savings opportunities.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control for residential and commercial real estate projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and evaluation of contractor and vendor quotations.
- Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis, cost reporting, and variance analysis using spreadsheets and relevant software tools.
- Candidates should possess skills in contract administration, tender evaluation, and coordination with procurement and project teams.
- Candidates should possess skills in project management fundamentals, scheduling awareness, and risk identification related to project costs.
- Relevant skills in MS Excel, cost management or ERP tools, and general construction management software are beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications in cost management or quantity surveying are an advantage.
- Previous experience in real estate or construction cost management, strong analytical abilities, and explicit written and verbal communication skills are highly beneficial.
