CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO) – LOGISTICS & INDUSTRIAL PARKS

Location: Kolkata

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

JOB PURPOSE The Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Logistics & Industrial Parks shall be responsible for the complete management, growth and profitability of the Company's Logistics and Industrial Park operations at Haldia and Kalinganagar.

The role will provide leadership for all commercial, operational, financial and developmental activities relating to logistics infrastructure, industrial parks, warehousing, container handling, inland container depot (ICD) services, container rake operations including managing the railway siding and related customer solutions. The COO will drive business expansion while ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and sustainable profitability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Business Leadership & Growth

- Develop and execute strategic growth plans for Haldia and Kalinganagar operations.
- Expand revenue streams through logistics, warehousing, ICD and industrial leasing activities.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and market segments.
- Build strategic relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics companies and industrial customers.

2. Profit & Loss Management

- Assume full P&L; responsibility for the Logistics Business.
- Deliver budgeted revenue and profitability targets.
- Drive cost optimization and operational efficiencies.
- Maximize utilization of land, warehouse and logistics infrastructure assets.

3. Operations Management





- Oversee day-to-day operations across all logistics and industrial park facilities.
- Ensure efficient container handling, warehousing and related logistics services.
- Improve operational productivity, turnaround time and customer service standards.
- Implement best practices, technology solutions and process improvements.

4. Business Development & Customer Management

- Lead customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
- Develop key account relationships with major customers and strategic partners.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and service contracts.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery standards.

5. Projects & Expansion

- Support expansion of existing parks and development of new logistics infrastructure.
- Evaluate growth opportunities, investments and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure timely execution of approved projects.

6. Governance, Compliance & Safety

- Ensure compliance with customs, logistics, industrial and environmental regulations.
- Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
- Lead risk management and business continuity planning initiatives.

7. Team Leadership

- Build and lead a high-performing operating organisation.
- Establish transparent performance objectives and accountability standards.

EDUCATION

- MBA / PGDM from a reputed institution preferred.
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience.
- At least 8-10 years in senior leadership positions within logistics, ports, industrial parks, ICDs, container terminals, warehousing or supply chain businesses.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale logistics infrastructure and customer-intensive operations.
- Strong understanding of Eastern India logistics and industrial ecosystems.
