Role Description The Caps n Closures Designer is a full time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for designing PET and PP caps and closures that meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements. The role includes developing 2D and 3D design concepts, creating detailed drawings and models for mould development, and collaborating closely with tooling, production, and quality teams. The designer will optimize designs for manufacturability, efficiency, and material usage, while adhering to customer specifications and industry standards.





Day-to-day tasks involve revising designs based on feedback, supporting prototype and trial runs, preparing documentation and design reports, and ensuring alignment with sustainability and performance goals. The role may also involve coordinating with clients and suppliers to clarify requirements and support continuous improvement in cap and closure design.

Qualifications

- Solid proficiency in 3D CAD and related design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar), with experience in product or mould design.
- Knowledge of plastics, polymer materials (especially PET and PP), and design for injection moulding or hot runner systems.
- Experience in cap and closure design, packaging components, or precision engineering for FMCG, beverage, or related industries is preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications, with attention to detail and quality.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to optimize designs for performance, durability, and manufacturability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including tooling, production, and R&D.;
- Relevant technical qualification such as a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety practices, and sustainable design principles is an added advantage.
