About TAARK

TAARK designs and manufactures electric vehicles for industrial and commercial use: load carriers, brick-transport EVs, electric tippers, forklifts, custom application vehicles and L5 commercial EVs (TAARK GLADIA). Our customers are brick kilns, textile mills, cement, agro and poultry units, hospitals and campuses across South India. We are an engineering-first company building from our plant at Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore.

Role purpose

Own what TAARK pays for every part, and the terms we buy on. You will cost parts from the drawing, put suppliers on cost-based pricing, annual rate contracts and NDAs, and take material cost down year on year.

Core focus

- Should-cost: build zero-based estimates from the drawing (raw material, process, tooling, overheads, profit) for sheet metal and fabrication, machined parts, castings and forgings, plastics and rubber, wiring harness and electricals, and bought-outs such as motors, controllers, batteries and axles.
- Cost reduction: negotiate on cost break-ups. Drive value engineering with R&D;, alternate sources and localisation of imported parts.
- ARC: set up annual rate contracts for repeat parts, covering price validity, volume band, raw-material-linked price revision, lead time and quality terms.
- NDA and agreements: issue and manage NDAs, supply agreements, tooling agreements and price-revision terms.

Also part of the role
- Supplier assessment: audit on capability, capacity, quality system and financial health; approve, onboard and rate monthly on quality, delivery and cost.
- New part development with R&D; and Quality: RFQ, sample approval, PPAP and tooling follow-up.




- Purchase execution: PO release and follow-up against the production plan, with the Purchase and Stores teams.
- Weekly materials MIS to management: price variance, savings, ARC coverage, shortages and supplier on-time delivery.

- Current parts developed on time

Must have

- 6–8 years in sourcing, Costings, purchase or materials in an automotive, EV or engineering manufacturing company.
- Hands-on should-costing in at least two commodities (for example fabrication plus machining, or electricals).
- Supplier audits, assessment and rating done personally.
- Drafted or negotiated NDAs, supply agreements and ARCs.
- Working knowledge of ERP / MRP and strong Excel.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Pollachi / Kinathukadavu / Coimbatore.

Good to have

- EV parts sourcing: motors, controllers, batteries, chargers.
- Import sourcing and landed-cost calculation.
- PPAP / APQP exposure and tooling cost estimation.

Education: BE or Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Production or Electrical Engineering. MBA in Operations or Materials is an advantage.
