Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Scrum Master with 10+ years of experience in Agile project management and delivery, particularly within Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Data Platform projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in managing Agile teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing delivery impediments, and ensuring predictable project execution. The candidate must understand Data Engineering concepts, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, cloud data platforms, and modern data architecture to effectively coordinate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Data Analysts, and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
- Manage end-to-end Agile delivery for Data Engineering projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate projects involving ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion, data transformation, data warehousing, and data lake/lakehouse platforms.
- Track sprint progress, velocity, burndown charts, sprint commitments, and delivery metrics.
- Identify and remove blockers affecting data engineering teams, including dependencies related to data sources,



infrastructure, environments, and pipeline integrations.
- Ensure effective backlog management, user story prioritization, estimation, and sprint execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams working on cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and delivery expectations.
- Proactively identify delivery risks, manage dependencies, and implement mitigation plans.
- Drive continuous improvement in Agile processes, team collaboration, and delivery efficiency.
- Provide regular project status reports, sprint updates, risk assessments, and delivery dashboards to leadership.
- Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies, engineering standards, and organizational delivery practices.

Required Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Data Engineering project lifecycles.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT development, data ingestion, data integration, and data transformation.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Lakehouse architectures.
- Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar technologies.




- Understanding of cloud data ecosystems across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, Spark, and data pipeline concepts is an advantage.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and data pipeline deployment workflows.
- Experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- Strong experience working as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
- Proven experience managing Data Engineering or Data Platform projects.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Agile frameworks, and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience handling cross-functional technical teams and multiple project dependencies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to communicate technical project challenges and delivery progress to non-technical stakeholders.
- Robust leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates who have managed large-scale Data Engineering or Cloud Data Migration projects.
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.
- Experience managing multiple Agile squads or large cross-functional delivery teams.
- Candidates with relevant Scrum Master certifications such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe Agilist will be preferred.
- Should be technically aware of Data Engineering workflows rather than having experience limited to conducting Scrum ceremonies.
