Role Description This is a full-time, remote Principal Consultant role.

The Principal

Consultant will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, helping them design and implement tax automation solutions using the Taxcart platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading discovery sessions, analyzing client tax and systems requirements, and developing implementation plans. The role also involves collaborating with product and engineering teams to address complex use cases, providing guidance on best practices, and overseeing successful onboarding and configuration.

Consultant will prepare documentation, deliver workshops, and act as a long-term partner to clients to optimize their global tax operations as they scale.





Qualifications

- Strong background in indirect taxation (sales tax, VAT, GST) and experience with tax compliance or tax technology solutions.
- Experience in consulting, client-facing solution design, or implementation leadership, ideally in SaaS or financial/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and translating business needs into technical configurations.
- Comfort working with APIs, integrations, and data flows between e-commerce, billing, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax and technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, sales, and customer success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; skilled tax or consulting certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience with global clients or multi-jurisdictional tax environments is strongly beneficial.
