Welcome to Prepster, where creativity and purpose come together in SchoolWear. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer – Textile (midlevel) role based in Coimbatore. The designer will develop textile concepts and patterns for SchoolWear collections, translating brand guidelines and functional needs into fabric designs and garment details. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends and materials relevant to school uniforms, creating sketches and digital renderings, and collaborating with product development, merchandising, and production teams. The role involves preparing tech packs and specifications, coordinating with vendors and mills on fabrics, colors, and trims, and ensuring quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness in all designs. The designer will also support fit reviews, sample approvals,



and continuous improvement of existing styles based on feedback from schools, students, and internal stakeholders. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in fashion and textile design, including pattern development, fabric selection, and color theory.
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD or similar software) for creating prints, layouts, and technical drawings.
• Experience preparing detailed tech packs, measurement charts, and production-ready specifications for apparel.
• Ability to conduct trend and market research relevant to SchoolWear, including functional, cultural, and regional considerations.
• Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes, fabric performance, and quality standards, preferably in uniforms or kidswear.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple design projects and deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, with midlevel industry experience in apparel or uniforms.
• Comfort working on-site in Coimbatore and participating in sample reviews, vendor meetings, and production follow-ups.
• Commitment to inclusive, practical, and student-friendly design solutions that reflect Prepster’s brand values.
