Role Description The Software Development Engineer III role at TELUS is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power TELUS products and platforms. You will participate in requirements analysis, technical design, coding, code reviews, and unit/integration testing to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex business problems and enhance system performance and reliability.



You will also contribute to technical documentation, mentor less experienced engineers, and support continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and automation. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming using up-to-date languages and frameworks relevant to back-end services.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side architectures.
• Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) is an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Experience in high-availability, large-scale distributed systems and performance optimization is beneficial.
