Position: Project Portfolio Manager – Clinical / Healthcare

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Portfolio Manager with a strong background in Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Healthcare, or Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, managing project priorities, monitoring delivery performance, and driving effective portfolio governance.

The candidate should have strong experience in project and program management, stakeholder coordination, resource planning, risk management, and delivering complex projects within clinical or healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee a portfolio of projects related to clinical research, clinical operations, healthcare, or life sciences.
- Develop and maintain project portfolio plans, roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure projects are aligned with organizational priorities, business objectives, and strategic goals.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues across multiple projects.
- Establish and maintain portfolio governance frameworks, reporting structures, and project management standards.
- Coordinate with clinical, business, IT, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on portfolio performance, risks, and delivery status.
- Identify resource constraints, delivery bottlenecks, and inter-project dependencies, and implement mitigation plans.
- Track project budgets, financial performance, resource utilization, and overall portfolio efficiency.




- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, reporting, and portfolio delivery practices.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, compliance, and governance standards are followed across clinical projects.
- Prepare executive-level dashboards, portfolio reports, and presentations for senior management.

Required Skills and Experience

- 8+ years of experience in Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, or PMO leadership.
- Relevant experience working in Clinical Research, Clinical Trials, Clinical Operations, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences domains.
- Strong understanding of project portfolio management, governance, planning, and delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, budgets, resources, and dependencies.
- Robust stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leadership.
- Experience in risk management, issue resolution, change management, and project performance tracking.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Planview, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications.
- Experience in clinical trial management systems (CTMS), electronic data capture (EDC), or clinical data management platforms.
- Knowledge of GxP, GCP, regulatory compliance, and clinical research processes.
- Experience with portfolio dashboards, financial tracking, resource forecasting, and executive reporting.
