About the Role

Glendale International School is looking for a qualified, passionate and experienced IGCSE Physics Teacher & Examiner to join its academic team at Nallagandla, Hyderabad.

The ideal candidate should have strong subject expertise, experience in delivering the Cambridge IGCSE Physics curriculum and a sound understanding of Cambridge assessment frameworks. Prior experience as a Cambridge examiner will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Physics lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Teach core Physics concepts including Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Waves, Electricity, Magnetism and Atomic Physics.
- Develop students' conceptual understanding, analytical thinking and scientific problem-solving skills.
- Conduct practical sessions and laboratory activities in line with Cambridge assessment requirements.
- Integrate real-world applications, demonstrations and inquiry-based learning into classroom teaching.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, question papers and revision materials.
- Monitor student performance and provide timely feedback and academic support.
- Prepare students for IGCSE examinations through structured revision, past-paper practice and examination strategies.

2. Examination & Assessment Responsibilities

- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cambridge IGCSE Physics assessment objectives and examination formats.
- Develop and evaluate assessments in alignment with Cambridge examination standards.
- Analyse students' performance using past examination papers and marking schemes.
- Provide guidance on examination techniques, structured answers and practical assessment requirements.




- Maintain assessment records and contribute to academic performance reviews.
- Experience working as a Cambridge International Examiner, particularly in Physics, will be an added advantage.

3. Curriculum & Departmental Responsibilities

- Stay updated with Cambridge syllabus changes, assessment guidelines and academic developments.
- Collaborate with the Science Department and academic leadership in curriculum planning.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, academic reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective utilisation of laboratory resources and adherence to safety protocols.

Educational Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Physics / Applied Physics or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. qualification preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Cambridge IGCSE Physics curriculum.

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in Physics.
- Prior experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Physics is essential.
- Experience handling Grades 9 and 10 is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Cambridge International Examiner / Paper Marker will be a robust advantage.

- Excellent subject knowledge and conceptual clarity in Physics.
- Strong understanding of Cambridge IGCSE assessment objectives and examination standards.
- Ability to deliver practical-oriented and inquiry-based learning.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.

- Proficiency in using technology-enabled teaching methodologies.
- Ability to mentor students and drive strong academic outcomes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Candidates with prior Cambridge IGCSE Physics teaching experience.
- Cambridge-certified teachers or educators familiar with Cambridge assessment frameworks.
- Teachers with active or previous Cambridge examiner experience will be given preference.
- Candidates with a proven track record of preparing students for IGCSE examinations.
