Full-Time Video Editor & Camera Operator Location: Kolathur, Chennai

Job Type : Full-Time (5 Days a Week)

Salary : Up to ₹40,000 per month (Based on experience, interest to learn if not experienced)

We are looking for a Video Editor & Camera Operator to join our Women-led YouTube Cooking channel. This role involves handling both video editing and shooting (will be trained if you don't know video shoot) of recipe videos at our home studio in Kolathur, Chennai.

This position is ideal for already experienced Editors, Visual Communication (VisCom) students, Freshers, or Junior Editors/Videographers who want to gain hands-on experience in YouTube content production.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing

- Edit Long cooking videos and Shorts/Reels
- Create thumbnails using Canva
- Add ingredients text, titles, subtitles, transitions, voiceover, SEO and BGM
- Ensure videos follow our editing style and storytelling format

Camera Work

- Assist in shooting recipe videos using a 3-Camera setup
- Operate one handheld camera for angles and close-ups
- Handle basic operation of top camera and studio camera (mostly fixed)
- Ensure proper framing, focus, and smooth recording
- Assist with camera setup before shoots

Currently, content is in Tamil, but in the future the channel may expand to Telugu, Hindi, and English, so adaptability will be appreciated.

Office Support (On Lighter Work Days)

On days when shooting or editing work is mínimal or no shoot/edit, you may also help with basic office tasks, such as:

- Help with recipe ideas, suggestions to Chefs
- Help create Insta stories using photos, graphics
- Organizing and managing documents
- Basic coordination and administrative support

Work Details

- 5 days per week (Studio-based role)

- Weekly Off: Sunday & Monday :

- Location: Home Studio - Kolathur, Chennai

- 5-6 recipe shoots per week

- Expected final output: up to 6 edited videos (only Tamil)



per week if the week had 6 videos shoot, if not then lesser whatever was shot

- Training will be provided to understand our shooting and editing workflow

Requirements :

- Basic experience in video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)
- Basic knowledge of camera operation and videography, if not we will train
- Familiarity with Canva for thumbnails
- Responsible, punctual, and willing to learn

Bonus Skills (Not Mandatory): After Effects / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut Pro

Salary : Salary depends on experience.

If you have very good experience in both Editing and Camera work, Rs.40K/month pay starts after 2 weeks of probation period checking your skills, training our format etc. Until then pay will be Rs.35K/month

If you have only basic experience with Editing/Camera work or no Camera work experience (but still Editing experience is must), then your pay will be Rs.35K/month 1st month. After training/probation period of checking your skills for 1 month, your pay will be Rs.40K

Salary paid as Freelance full time contractor bank-to-bank transfer

- 2 Cameramen (Editors & Programmers working part-time)

General Details: We are looking for someone who can be like a family, like a younger sister to the 2 Women Chefs.

Shooting, Editing, Channel improvements, sometimes outing to shop with Chefs, tasting cooked food all will be compelling & fun.

As Channel progresses with success, you will have long term prospects & progress.

Selection Process

Step 2: Practical Test / Training Demo You will be shown our shooting and editing workflow.
