Job Title : Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA)

Role Overview

The Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and security of relational and NoSQL databases deployed across cloud platforms. This role ensures high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise database environments hosted on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Support

- Install, configure, and manage relational databases including:

- PostgreSQL

- Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)

- Provide operational support for additional databases such as:

- Oracle (good to have)

- MySQL (valuable to have)

- Cassandra (NoSQL - good to have)

- Perform backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and migrations.

- Manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations.

- Monitor and optimize database performance.

Cloud Database Management

- Deploy and manage databases on:

- Amazon Web Services (AWS)

- Microsoft Azure

- Google Cloud

- Configure cloud-native database services (e.g., managed SQL services, storage configurations).

- Implement scaling strategies for performance and cost optimization.

- Ensure secure database architecture aligned with cloud security best practices.

Automation & Scripting

- Develop automation scripts using:

- PowerShell

- Python

- Shell scripting

- Automate routine database tasks including:

- Provisioning

- Monitoring

- Performance tuning

- Backup validation

- Support Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives where applicable.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

- Utilize monitoring tools such as:

- Grafana

- CloudWatch

- Datadog

- Prometheus

- Track database health, latency, and resource utilization.

- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.





- Proactively analyze trends to prevent outages.

Security & Compliance

- Implement database security best practices including:

- Role-based access control

- Encryption at rest and in transit

- Vulnerability patching

- Support audit and compliance requirements.

- Work closely with security and DevOps teams.

Collaboration & Incident Management

- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
- Support 24x7 production systems where required.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
- Document operational procedures and best practices.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in database administration.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience managing databases in a cloud environment.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and MSSQL.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Shell).
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and Cassandra.

- Experience implementing HA/DR architectures in cloud environments.

- Cloud certifications such as:

- AWS Certified Database - Specialty

- Azure Database Administrator Associate

- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD integration.

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹368,494.03 - ₹1,599,978.69 per year
