Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Claims Specialist to join our US logistics team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end cargo freight claims—investigating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D;), filing claims with carriers, negotiating settlements, and protecting company and client assets. You will act as the primary liaison between internal operations, freight carriers, insurance providers, and customers to ensure quick resolution and maximum financial recovery.

Key Responsibilities

- Claims Investigation & Filing: Research, gather, and evaluate documentation (Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery, inspection reports, photo evidence, invoices) to investigate overages, shortages, damages, or lost shipments.
- Carrier & Vendor Management: File cargo claims against motor carriers, rail operators, ocean lines, and air freight providers in compliance with contractual agreements and US transportation laws.
- Financial Recovery & Negotiation: Negotiate claim settlements with carriers and third-party insurance providers to maximize claim recovery amounts while minimizing dispute timelines.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, internal customer service, warehouse operations, and carriers regarding claim status, resolution, and disposition of damaged goods.
- Compliance & Legal Standards:



Ensure all claims processes adhere to US freight regulations, including the Carmack Amendment, COGSA (Carriage of Goods by Sea Act), and carrier liability limitations.
- Data Analysis & Loss Prevention: Track claim metrics (recovery rates, cycle times, OS&D; trends) in the TMS/Claims Management System to identify operational risk areas and support root-cause loss prevention initiatives.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, audited records of all open and closed claims, payments received, salvage dispositions, and carrier write-offs.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience processing cargo/freight claims within a 3PL, freight brokerage, trucking company, or supply chain organization.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US freight liability frameworks, specifically the Carmack Amendment, Bill of Lading terms, and carrier tariff rules.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Claims Management Software (e.g., Mercury Gate, McLeod, or custom tools), and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Negotiation & Communication: Excellent written and verbal negotiation skills with a track record of resolving disputes professionally.

Preferred:

- Experience handling claims across multiple freight modes (TL, LTL, Intermodal, Ocean, Air).

Pay: Up to ₹1,000,000.00 per year
