JOB VACANCY – ASTRA SUPERMARKET Picker/Packer & Cashier (Multi-Role Staff)

Job Description

We are looking for responsible, active, and customer-friendly staff to join our supermarket team. Employees will be responsible for picking and packing customer orders, billing at the cash counter, arranging products, and supporting daily supermarket operations.

Important: Both Picker/Packers and Cashiers must be willing to perform both roles whenever required, depending on customer flow and store operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Picking & Packing

- Pick the correct products according to customer orders.
- Check product names, quantities, expiry dates, and product condition.
- Pack groceries and other items carefully and securely.
- Ensure accurate order preparation for delivery and in-store customers.
- Refill shelves and arrange products neatly.
- Assist with stock checking and inventory management.

2. Cashier & Billing

- Operate the POS billing system and barcode scanner.
- Generate accurate bills and collect cash, UPI, card, and other accepted payments.
- Handle cash responsibly and maintain billing accuracy.
- Verify prices, discounts, and quantities before billing.




- Assist customers with billing-related queries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the billing counter.

3. General Store Responsibilities

- Assist customers in locating products.
- Support receiving, checking, and arranging stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
- Help with packing, billing, shelf replenishment, and other tasks during busy hours.
- Follow store procedures and report stock discrepancies or damaged and expired products to the supervisor.

Candidate Requirements

- Basic mathematics and number-handling skills.
- Basic smartphone/computer knowledge; prior POS experience is an advantage.
- Valuable communication and customer-service skills.
- Honest, punctual, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work in a team and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Willingness to work in both picking/packing and cashier roles as required.
