• Must have a thorough domain knowledge of structural fabrication
• Able to plan for his job in line with the delivery schedule to match site erection
• Able to read fabrication drawings thoroughly and understand the symbols
• Must have sound knowledge of welding techniques generally practiced in structural welding
• Should be well versed with various stages of structural fabrication line works
• Able to plan for manpower and other resources to carry out the fabrication works in line with the schedule
• Must be fully concerned of safety of self and fellow workmen and colleagues working with him and his workplace
• Should be aware of the basic quality checks to be conducted of the material during the fabrication process
• Must have valuable communication and negotiation skills to help get the best out of the fabricator as per requirement
