Role Description This is a part-time Fabric Trader role based in Ahmedabad with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a mix of on-site presence and work from home. The Fabric Trader will source and trade fabrics, maintain relationships with mills, suppliers, and buyers, and negotiate prices and terms to meet cost and quality targets. Daily responsibilities include tracking market trends, analyzing fabric requirements for high-fashion garments, preparing quotes, and coordinating samples and orders. The role involves close collaboration with the merchandising, production, and quality teams to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to sustainability and certification standards. The Fabric Trader will also update internal records,



maintain accurate inventory and order data, and support risk management related to fabric procurement. Qualifications
• Experience in fabric sourcing, trading, or textile merchandising, preferably in high-fashion or export-oriented environments.
• Robust knowledge of different fabric types, constructions, finishes, and sustainable materials (including familiarity with GOTS/GRS or similar standards).
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and buyers, manage price and delivery terms, and build long-term professional relationships.
• Skills in market analysis, cost comparison, and basic data handling using spreadsheets or ERP systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across merchandising, production, and quality teams.
• Organized, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple fabric inquiries and orders simultaneously in a part-time hybrid setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in textiles, fashion, commerce, or a related field is preferred; relevant work experience may substitute formal education.
• Prior exposure to export documentation and domestic textile markets in Ahmedabad or similar hubs will be an advantage.
