ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Structural Engineer to support a U.S.-based structural engineering practice on residential and light commercial projects.

You'll take projects from architectural drawings through structural calculations and final construction documents — designing beams, columns, walls, floor and roof systems, foundations, wood framing, and gravity and lateral systems.

This is an engineering role, not a drafting-only position. You'll be expected to independently develop structural solutions, perform the calculations yourself, and produce complete construction-document sets while working closely with a U.S.-based lead structural engineer.

This is a full-time, remote role for candidates based in India, with core overlap with U.S. Eastern Time. The typical schedule is approximately 1:00 PM–11:00 PM IST, with occasional adjustments for project meetings.

IMPORTANT

We are looking for 4–6+ years of professional structural design experience on residential or light commercial buildings.

Candidates whose experience is primarily drafting, BIM modeling, or following another engineer's markups without owning the structural calculations will not be shortlisted.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform structural design and engineering calculations for beams, columns, walls, floors, roofs, and foundations

• Design wood-framed structural systems

• Perform gravity and lateral load analysis

• Design shear walls, moment frames, connections, and related structural systems

• Perform wind and snow load design for U.S. East Coast projects

• Interpret architectural drawings and independently develop structural solutions

• Produce complete structural construction documents including plans, sections, schedules, and details

• Take projects from architectural drawings through final construction documents





• Coordinate regularly with the lead structural engineer and incorporate technical feedback

• Manage multiple project tasks and meet deadlines independently

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 4–6+ years of professional structural engineering experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline

• Residential and/or light commercial structural-design experience

• Solid structural calculation and analysis skills

• Wood-frame design experience

• Experience designing beams, columns, walls, floor and roof systems, and foundations

• Gravity and lateral analysis experience

• Knowledge of shear walls, moment frames, connections, wind loads, and snow loads

• Strong Revit structural/BIM skills

• AutoCAD experience

• RISA-3D or equivalent structural-analysis software

• Experience with ForteWeb, HandCalc, MathCAD, Excel, or similar calculation tools

• Experience producing complete structural construction-document sets

• Comfortable working in U.S. Imperial units — feet, inches, and pounds

• Strong written and spoken English

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

NICE TO HAVE

• U.S. structural engineering project experience

• U.S. East Coast project experience

• Familiarity with U.S. building codes and structural-design standards

• Steel-structure design experience

• Reinforced-concrete design experience

• Experience coordinating directly with architects

• Structural engineering consulting experience

• PE licensure or progress toward professional licensure
