About the role

We're looking for a ZTNA and Firewall Engineer to own day-to-day operations of an enterprise Zscaler and Palo Alto environment. This is an operations role, not a deployment-only role. The client needs someone who has run these platforms in production and supported users, policies, and incidents on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

- Own daily operations for Zscaler ZPA, ZIA, SIPA, and ZDX, including policy management, app segments, connectors, and user troubleshooting
- Operate and maintain Palo Alto Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, and Service Connections
- Manage firewall and access policy changes through standard change-management processes
- Investigate and resolve connectivity, performance, and access issues, using ZDX and Palo Alto tools for digital experience monitoring
- Monitor platform health, capacity, and alerts, and lead incident response and root-cause analysis
- Support migration activity between Zscaler and Palo Alto platforms as needed
- Keep documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards current




- Provide coverage and attend meetings with US-based teams through 1:30 PM Eastern

Required qualifications
- 5+ years in network security, with a focus on ZTNA, SASE, and firewall operations
- Production-level, hands-on experience with Zscaler ZPA, ZIA, SIPA, and ZDX
- Production-level, hands-on experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, and Service Connections
- Proven ownership of day-to-day operations in an enterprise workplace (lab or POC-only experience doesn't qualify)
- Strong grounding in TCP/IP, routing, DNS, SSL inspection, VPN, and identity integration (SAML, IdP)
- Clear written and verbal English, and comfort working directly with US-based stakeholders
- Able to work an afternoon/evening IST shift covering through 1:30 PM ET

Preferred qualifications
- Experience migrating between Zscaler and Palo Alto platforms, in either direction
- Zscaler certifications (ZDTA, ZCCP) and/or Palo Alto certifications (PCNSE)
- Experience with Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama
- Scripting or automation experience (Python, APIs)
