1. Job Purpose To lead and manage wind resource assessment, wind data analytics, wind flow modelling, micrositing and energy yield assessment for wind energy projects. The role will provide technical leadership in site evaluation, energy generation forecasting, project feasibility and technical due diligence to support project development and investment decisions.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Wind Resource Assessment & Site Evaluation

- Lead wind resource assessment activities for prospective and existing wind energy projects.
- Evaluate wind resource potential, site suitability and project feasibility.
- Analyse wind data from meteorological masts, LiDAR and SoDAR systems.
- Oversee wind data validation, quality control, gap filling and long-term correlation.
- Assess wind shear, turbulence intensity, air density, extreme winds and other site-specific parameters.

B. Wind Modelling & Energy Yield Assessment

- Lead wind flow modelling, micrositing and turbine layout optimisation.
- Prepare and review gross and net Annual Energy Production (AEP) estimates.
- Evaluate wake effects, availability, electrical losses, environmental losses and other project-specific losses.
- Develop and validate P50, P75 and P90 energy yield estimates, including uncertainty analysis.
- Assess alternative turbine models and layouts to optimise energy generation and project economics.

C. Wind Measurement Campaigns

- Plan and supervise wind measurement campaigns, including met mast installation and remote sensing equipment deployment.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability and completeness of wind measurement data.
- Manage external consultants, measurement vendors and field teams.
- Ensure adherence to applicable IEC standards and industry best practices.

D. Technical Due Diligence & Project Development

- Lead technical assessments for new project sites, acquisitions and project investment decisions.




- Review wind resource assessment reports and energy yield studies prepared by consultants.
- Provide technical inputs for project feasibility, financial modelling and investment evaluations.
- Support project development, land assessment, turbine selection and engineering teams.
- Identify resource-related risks and recommend mitigation measures.

E. Team & Stakeholder Management

- Lead and mentor the wind resource assessment team.
- Coordinate with project development, engineering, EPC, turbine suppliers, consultants and management.
- Monitor project schedules, technical deliverables, consultant performance and assessment budgets.
- Present assessment findings, project risks and recommendations to senior management.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
- M.Tech./M.E. in Renewable Energy, Wind Energy or a related field is preferred.

Experience Required

- Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in wind resource assessment, wind energy engineering or renewable energy project development.
- Strong hands-on experience in wind data analysis, wind flow modelling, micrositing and energy yield assessment.
- Experience leading technical teams, managing consultants and delivering assessments for utility-scale wind projects.
- Exposure to wind project development, technical due diligence and lender/independent engineer reviews is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in WindPRO, WAsP, OpenWind, WindFarmer or equivalent wind assessment software.
- Solid knowledge of wind measurement systems, LiDAR, SoDAR and meteorological masts.
- Expertise in AEP estimation, loss calculations, uncertainty analysis and long-term wind data correlation.
- Understanding of applicable IEC standards and wind industry guidelines.
- Strong analytical, data interpretation, reporting and presentation skills.
