Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a Workday Student Consultant to deliver end-to-end configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of Workday Student for higher education institutions. The consultant works directly with functional stakeholders across Recruiting, Admissions, Student Records, Curriculum Management, Advising, Student Financials, and Financial Aid to translate business requirements into optimal Workday solutions, and serves as a functional point of contact through design, build, testing, and post-production support.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Configuration

- Gather and analyze institutional requirements, conduct FIT/GAP analysis, and translate raw client requirements into standard functional specifications.
- Configure and maintain Academic Foundation, tenant setup, organization types, setup values, and module-specific configuration across the student lifecycle.
- Configure and troubleshoot business processes, security groups and domain/BP policies, notifications, alerts, custom objects, and condition/eligibility rules.
- Design solutions that use delivered functionality first, extending only where genuinely required, with awareness of cross-module touchpoints and downstream impact.

Preferred candidate profile

- Participate in and support key implementation milestones architect workshops, foundation tenant build, customer confirmation sessions, end-to-end tenant build, UAT, and cutover.
- Support data conversion activities including data mapping and loads using EIB and Mass Operation Management.
- Build and maintain configuration workbooks, design documents, user guides, and test scripts.
- Execute unit, regression, and release-readiness testing,

including validation after Workday feature releases, and formulate realistic usage scenarios for testing.

Reporting & Analytics

- Build custom, advanced, matrix, composite, and trended reports, dashboards, and worklets using Student data sources to meet operational and compliance reporting needs.

Support & Operations

- Handle L1/L2 incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, following ITSM, SDLC, Agile, and Workday deployment methodology.
- Troubleshoot configuration and transactional issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive them through to resolution.
- Support peak-cycle activities such as admissions cycles, registration, and end-of-term processing.

Mentoring & Coordination

- Mentor and guide junior consultants and analysts on configuration standards, troubleshooting approaches, and delivery best practices.
- Coordinate across module teams, integration, reporting, and technical resources to ensure dependencies are identified early and resolved.
- Coordinate with client functional owners, run working sessions and demos, and communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly to both business and project leadership.
- Review peers' configuration and documentation for quality and consistency.
- Contribute to internal knowledge assets — reusable accelerators, best-practice notes,

and practice training material.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Student in an implementation or AMS environment.
- Working knowledge of the end-to-end student timeline from recruiting through graduation, and the configuration that underpins it.
- Demonstrated experience with Workday business process framework, security, and reporting.
- Experience with requirements documentation, configuration workbooks, and structured testing.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain system behaviour to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Workday certification in one or more Student modules (Student Core/Essentials, Records, Recruiting & Admissions, Curriculum Management, Student Financials, Financial Aid) or Advanced Reporting.
- Prior experience with legacy SIS platforms such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Banner, or Oracle Student Cloud.
- Experience with Customer Central, Campus Engagement Framework, Academic Requirements/APR, or Student Eligibility Rules.
- Exposure to third-party integrations (e.g., CRM/application platforms) and region-specific regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-campus or multi-institution deployments.

Core Competencies Analytical problem solving • Requirement interpretation • Attention to configuration detail • Collaboration across functional and technical teams • Ownership through to resolution • Continuous learning through Workday Community, release notes, and internal CoE resources
