Summary: Lead a safe, caring and well-run hostel for the residential trainees at our JRDA girls' hostel in Belgaria, Dhanbad. Your guidance will help trainees feel secure, stay on track and complete their training with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safeguarding: Act as the hostel's safeguarding lead. Protect residents' safety, privacy and dignity, and report and escalate any safeguarding concern straight away according to centre procedures.
- Welfare: Look after residents' wellbeing, give pastoral support and guidance, and help new trainees settle in.
- Night duty: Do night duty and stay available for emergencies according to the hostel duty roster [duty hours to confirm].
- Attendance: Take morning and night attendance, and keep in-out, leave and visitor registers according to hostel rules.
- Discipline: Make sure hostel rules and timings are followed, handle disputes fairly, and keep order calm and respectful.
- Health & first aid: Give first aid, arrange medical help when needed, and inform the Centre Manager and the family promptly.
- Coordination: Work closely with the Centre Manager, trainers and hostel security, oversee housekeeping, hygiene and the mess (if any), and keep hostel records and reports up to date.

Requirements:



Must-have

- A caring, responsible approach and the ability to manage and mentor a group of young residents.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and resident welfare.
- Good communication in Hindi, with basic reading and writing for registers and reports.
- Willingness to do night duty and to stay at or be available at the hostel as the role requires [to confirm].
- Willingness to undergo police / background verification [to confirm].
- Must be able to work at Belgaria, Dhanbad.
- Earlier experience as a hostel warden, caretaker, or in student or youth welfare (suggested: 1+ year).

Preferred Skills

- Graduate (suggested).
- First-aid certification or basic health and hygiene training.
- Training or experience in safeguarding, child or youth protection, or counselling.
- Experience in a residential skill training centre, school hostel or NGO residential programme.
