Role & responsibilities

Consultation with Clients
Understand client preferences, lifestyle, and design needs.
Assess the space and provide expert advice on potential design changes.
Develop a personalised design plan that aligns with the clients vision.

Space Planning & Design
Create layouts that optimise space, flow, and functionality.
Suggest appropriate colours, furniture, lighting, and dcor.
Implement designs to reflect current trends, as well as timeless styles.

Sourcing and Procurement
Source furniture, textiles, and decorative items from suppliers.
Keep up with industry trends and establish relationships with vendors.
Ensure that purchases align with the budget and design vision.

Styling and Dcor Implementation
Oversee the installation of furniture, dcor items, and accessories.
Create arrangements that are visually balanced, cohesive, and stylish.
Make adjustments as needed based on client feedback or space constraints.

Project Coordination
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other specialists involved in the design process.
Ensure that timelines are met, and the project stays within budget.
Handle logistics, delivery, and installation of items.

Client Presentations & Updates
Present mood boards, design concepts,



and plans to clients.
Make revisions as necessary to meet client expectations.
Provide regular updates on progress and any changes to the plan.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: A degree or certification in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in styling or interior design, preferably in residential or commercial projects.
Creativity: Robust artistic and design sense with attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite).
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and budgets simultaneously.

Preferred Skills
Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices.
Familiarity with trends in both contemporary and traditional interior styling.
Ability to work independently or as part of a design team.

Working Setting
Office settings or client sites for styling and design work.
Occasional travel for sourcing materials, visiting suppliers, and overseeing installations.
