Role Description The Chinese Chef is a full-time, in office role based in Mumbai. The individual in this role prepares and cooks a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, ensuring consistent taste, presentation, and portioning. Day-to-day tasks include menu planning, ingredient selection, mise en place, and overseeing food preparation during service. The chef maintains kitchen hygiene and safety standards, coordinates with other kitchen staff to manage orders efficiently, and monitors stock levels to avoid shortages or waste.



The role also involves collaborating with management to develop current Chinese menu items, supporting special events, and maintaining high guest satisfaction through quality and timely service.

Qualifications
Strong skills in Chinese culinary techniques, including wok cooking, steaming, braising, and dim sum preparation.
Ability to design and refine Chinese menus, balance flavors, and ensure appealing food presentation.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper kitchen hygiene practices.
Experience in managing kitchen operations, including coordination with staff and time management during peak hours.
Capability to monitor inventory, manage ordering of ingredients, and minimize food wastage.
Prior experience as a Chinese Chef or in a similar role within hotels or restaurants.
Relevant culinary diploma or certification from a recognized institution is preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
