A Waiter/Captain job involves both direct guest service (greeting, taking orders, serving, clearing) and supervision, acting as a station leader who ensures smooth service, manages junior staff, maintains standards (cleanliness, menu knowledge, service sequence), handles complaints, and boosts sales through suggestive selling, ultimately ensuring high guest satisfaction and efficient team operation. Key Responsibilities (Waiter)

- Guest Service: Greet guests warmly, seat them, take orders accurately, serve food/drinks, present checks, and thank them upon departure.
- Order Management: Relay orders to the kitchen, follow up on food/drink delivery, and serve with correct accompaniments.
- Table Maintenance: Keep assigned tables clean, set correctly (mise-en-place), and transparent efficiently.
- Menu Knowledge: Know menu items, ingredients, and presentation standards to assist guests.

Key Responsibilities (Captain/Supervisor)
- Leadership & Training: Train junior servers, manage staff on the floor,



and ensure adherence to restaurant protocols.
- Floor Management: Oversee a specific section, manage workflow, coordinate with kitchen/bar, and ensure prompt service.
- Guest Satisfaction: Build rapport, handle complaints tactfully, collect feedback, and ensure a positive experience.
- Standards & Compliance: Inspect table settings, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
- Sales & Efficiency: Practice suggestive selling, manage inventory, and report equipment issues.
