I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities
Engineering, Checking, detailing and drafting of Grating drawings
Review, Study structural design drawings and other inputs to identify extent / scope
Identify engineering questions / issues and communicate with the Engineer / Fabricator
Work with the team manager / leader to accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned II. Basic Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors in Civil OR Mechanical Engineering

6 years Overall experience in Engineering / Checking / detailing (Industrial buildings, detailing of Stairs and handrails, platforms is preferred). AISC background is a must.
Min. 3 years experience in checking Shop drawings, 3D models, etc.
Understanding of Technical codes AISC, NISD practices, OSHA regulations is a must. III. Preferred Qualifications A. Interpersonal Skills
Ability to communicate (written & oral) in English
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Ability to produce details with nil / minimal checking required
Ability to work in the engineering group with minimal guidance
Ability to complete assigned activities in the schedule allotted




Positive analytical skills and should be detail oriented B. Technical / Software application Skills
Experience in SDS2 or Tekla Structures (X-Steel)
Experience with Microstation (Preferable but not compulsory) IV. Essential functions
The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual
The ability to read and understand documents & Structural design drawings
The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers
The ability to perform several tasks at once
The ability to follow direction or instruction
The ability to follow standard operating procedures
Create files, folders and perform other document control duties as necessary
