The role of DevOps is to bring together Development and IT Operations. As the IT Operations side of DevOps, our focus is on automating solutions to increase development capacity and work towards the eventual goal of Continuous Delivery. A broad range of technical skills is required. The ability to work alone on IT Operations projects and in development Sprints is also required.

Experience with the Atlassian suite of products, such as JIRA, and ITIL-based Service Desk tools is essential.

Specific Responsibilities and Experience

Main Responsibilities

- Maintaining an optimally resourced Team.

- Maintaining an appropriate resource plan and communicating resource capability to fulfill requirements.

- Managing absence and attendance using corporate tools.

- Mentoring and progressing team members.

- Involvement in the design of IT Operations functions.

- Working with the operations team to ensure the system can be supported on a day-to-day basis.

- Ensure the infrastructure is designed to cope with the demands of the software system.

- Ensure appropriate system scalability and high availability.

- Creation of new Operational solutions both in the Cloud and on Premise.

- Automation and configuration management of IT Operations assets.

- Ensure full documentation supports both design proposals and delivered solutions.

Required Skills and Experience





- Strong experience in Linux operating systems, specifically Red Hat or CentOS.

- Experience with virtualization, specifically VMWare.

- Knowledge of network protocols and internet topology.

- Experience with orchestration and configuration management tools.

- Good knowledge of containers, specifically Docker.

- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems.

- Experience in producing detailed infrastructure/deployment diagrams.

- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.

- Proactive approach to discovering and learning new technologies and methodologies.
