Role: Team Lead Digital Media & Social Media Operations

1. Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead digital media and social media operations and strengthen its official presence across Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, Substack and other digital platforms.

The qualified will provide strategic and editorial leadership to a multidisciplinary team comprising content writers, graphic designers, video editors, social media executives and young professionals. The role entails overall responsibility for platform-specific strategies, content planning, editorial quality, team performance and audience engagement.

The candidate should have 510 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a team leadership or managerial role in digital media, preferably in reputed media organisations, news channels or digital newsrooms.

2. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

Master's Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication/Media Studies/Communication Studies/Advertisement and Public Relations/Digital Media/ Corporate Communication/Strategic Communication.

Professional Experience

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in media, digital communication or social media management,



including at least 3 years in a team leadership or managerial role, preferably in reputed media organizations, news channels or digital newsrooms.
- Demonstrated experience in leading content or social media teams, including work allocation, workflow management and performance monitoring.
- Proven experience in managing multiple official, institutional or brand social media platforms, with an understanding of their distinct formats, audiences and communication strategies.
- Sound understanding of the government communication ecosystem and institutional messaging.

3. Expected Competencies

- Leadership & Management: Strong team leadership, people management, mentoring and decision-making abilities.
- Editorial & Communication Skills: Excellent editorial judgment, news sense, and drafting and editing skills, with proficiency in English and Hindi.
- Digital Media Expertise: Sound understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, content formats, audience behavior and analytics.
- Professional Attributes: Creativity, adaptability, integrity, discretion and the ability to work under pressure, including during important government events and announcements.
