Amphenol FCI looking for an experienced Surface Grinding Operator to join our Tool Room team. The candidate will be responsible for precision surface grinding of inserts, plates, dies, and other tooling components while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and set up surface grinding machines for precision grinding operations.

- Perform grinding of tooling inserts, plates, dies, punches, and precision components.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.

- Maintain required dimensional accuracy, flatness, parallelism, and surface finish.

- Select appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and machining parameters based on material and component requirements.

- Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, dial gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.

- Identify and rectify dimensional or surface-finish issues during grinding operations.

- Maintain machine settings, tools, gauges, and work area in good condition.

- Follow 5S, safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.

- Coordinate with Tool Makers, Tool Room Engineers, and Quality teams to meet tooling requirements and delivery schedules.

- Required Skills





- Strong knowledge of surface grinding operations and precision grinding practices.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or related discipline.

- Experience in Tool Room / Mold & Die / Precision Component Manufacturing.

- Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T;.

- Knowledge of grinding wheel selection, dressing, and basic machine parameter setting.

- Ability to work with tight tolerances and achieve high-quality surface finishes.

- Knowledge of measuring and inspection instruments.

- Positive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and meet production targets.

- Preferred Experience

- 3–7 years of relevant experience in surface grinding operations.

- Experience in precision grinding of inserts, plates, molds, dies, and tooling components will be preferred.

- Candidates with Tool Room / Mold & Die manufacturing experience will be highly preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
