- Establish data-analysis methods, test procedures and measurement-uncertainty requirements.
D. Oil Management & System Optimization
- Develop and validate the oil circulation, separation and recovery strategy.
- Evaluate oil ejectors, oil pumps and alternative oil-return configurations, including potential redundancy.
- Address oil-return challenges associated with evaporators and low-pressure operating conditions.
- Assess auxiliary heating and other measures needed to maintain system stability.
E. Mechanical Design & Engineering Coordination
- Review and guide P&IDs;, system layouts, piping arrangements and equipment specifications.
- Drive development of the complete 3D system design with mechanical design engineers.
- Define equipment positioning, piping interfaces, maintainability and integration requirements.
- Coordinate component sizing and selection with design and procurement teams.
- Ensure mechanical design aligns with the approved thermodynamic design basis and laboratory constraints.
F. Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls
- Define instrumentation requirements for pressure, temperature, mass flow, power and other performance parameters.
- Establish measurement ranges, accuracy requirements and data-acquisition needs.
- Define control philosophy, operating sequences, alarms, interlocks and safety-related requirements with relevant specialists.
- Coordinate with electrical, controls and LabVIEW engineers on sensors, actuators, hardware and data acquisition.
- Validate the control strategy against the required operating envelope and test scenarios.
G. Testing, Validation & Technical Acceptance
- Develop system verification and validation plans and define acceptance criteria.
- Lead technical reviews, design verification and resolution of engineering issues.
- Support integration, commissioning, performance testing and troubleshooting as agreed in the project scope.
- Ensure calculations, assumptions, test results and engineering decisions are documented.
H. Technical Project Leadership & Customer Management
- Act as the primary technical interface with the customer for requirements and design decisions.
