Role & responsibilities
1. Control Architecture & Advanced Programming
- Architect, write, and optimize robust control code using Structured Text (ST) and Ladder Logic (LD) from concept to production.
- Develop closed-loop control algorithms (PID, cascade, feed-forward) for agile physical variables such as differential pressure, continuous flow rate, and multi-point temperature regulation.
- Program and configure Unitronics (UniLogic/VisiLogic) and Delta (ISPSoft/DIAStudio) and equivalent platforms, while maintaining adaptability across other major PLC ecosystems.
2. Motion, Motor Control & Actuation
- Configure, tune, and commission BLDC (Brushless DC) motors, smart pumps, EC fans, and proportional modulating control valves.
- Implement speed/torque control strategies and monitor motor health diagnostics (current draw, vibration, thermal feedback) over digital fieldbuses.
3. Instrumentation & Sensor Integration
- Select, scale, calibrate, and integrate high-precision analog and digital sensors:
- Pressure transmitters and differential pressure transducers
- Flow meters (coriolis, ultrasonic, magnetic, turbine)
- Multi-point RTDs (PT100/PT1000) and high-accuracy temperature sensors
- Liquid leak detection sensors and conductivity meters
- Implement signal conditioning, filtering (e.g., moving averages, debounce), and sensor fault-detection routines.
4. Protocol & Network Integration
- Design and commission communication networks integrating PLCs, drives, sensors, and upper-level monitoring systems.
- Deep implementation of industrial protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet IP/MSTP, CANopen, Ethernet/IP, and OPC UA / MQTT,
SMTP for telemetry and remote diagnostics.
5. HMI Development & Diagnostics
- Develop intuitive, real-time HMI interfaces for monitoring critical process parameters, alarm handling, event logging, and hardware diagnostics.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner with the Mechanical/Design Team to align fluid dynamics, valve curves, and mechanical packaging with control response requirements.
- Collaborate with the Production/Manufacturing Team to define end-of-line (EOL) testing sequences, automated test benches, and clear commissioning SOPs.
- Drive continuous product innovationevaluating next-generation controllers, smart instrumentation, and energy-efficient control methodologies.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in machine automation, precision process control, or complex mechatronics design.
- PLC Hardware: Proven, in-depth track record programming Unitronics and Delta PLCs. Broad knowledge of platforms like Beckhoff, Siemens, or Omron is an added advantage.
- Languages: High fluency in Structured Text (ST) and Ladder Logic (LD).
- Motor Control: Strong working experience with BLDC motors, motor drivers, VFDs, and electronic commutation systems.
- Sensor/Instrument Expertise: Deep understanding of 420 mA, 010 V, IO-Link, and digital sensor interfaces, noise suppression, and calibration practices.
- Communication Protocols: Thorough working knowledge of Modbus (RTU/TCP), CANopen, BACnet, and OPC UA / MQTT, SMTP.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, or Mechatronics Engineering.
