We are looking for skilled GSM BSC/BTS Development Engineers to design, develop, integrate, and optimise GSM Radio Access Network (RAN) software.

The role involves developing BTS and BSC software modules, implementing GSM protocol stacks, working on Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, and enhancing network performance.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in GSM architecture, telecom protocol development, C/C++ programming, Linux-based development, and GSM signalling procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. BTS Software Development

- Design, develop, and maintain GSM BTS software modules.
- Implement Layer 1 physical layer processing and radio resource management functionalities.
- Develop and optimise channel coding, interleaving, ciphering, and burst processing algorithms.
- Work on BTS Operations & Maintenance (O&M;), alarm management, and configuration management.
- Support multi-sector and multi-TRX configurations.

2. BSC Software Development

- Develop BSC control plane, call processing, and radio resource management functionalities.
- Implement Radio Resource Management (RR), Mobility Management (MM), and Call Control (CC) procedures.
- Develop and optimise intra-BTS, inter-BTS, and inter-BSC handover algorithms.
- Implement power control, timing advance, and load balancing mechanisms.
- Work on Abis, A-interface, and Gb interface functionalities.

3. GSM Protocol Stack Development

- Develop and maintain GSM signalling and communication protocols.
- Work on protocols including LAPDm, RSL, OML, BSSMAP, DTAP, SCCP, MTP3, and SIGTRAN.
- Analyse protocol traces, signalling logs, and call flows.
- Ensure compliance with relevant 3GPP GSM specifications.

4. GSM Feature Development

- Develop and enhance GSM features such as call setup and release, handover, SMS, GPRS/EDGE, frequency hopping, power control, timing advance, and cell reselection.




- Implement neighbour cell management and synchronisation functionalities.

5. System Integration & Validation

- Integrate BTS, BSC, EMS, and Core Network elements.
- Perform feature validation, system integration, and interoperability testing.
- Support customer acceptance testing and field deployments.
- Analyse field logs and troubleshoot customer-reported issues.

6. Performance Optimisation & Debugging

- Optimise call processing capacity, latency, CPU, memory, and transport utilisation.
- Develop troubleshooting utilities and performance monitoring tools.
- Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and system-level optimisation.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of GSM architecture, including MS, BTS, BSC, TRAU, and MSC.
- Good knowledge of GSM call flows, RR/MM/CC procedures, mobility management, and handover mechanisms.
- Strong programming experience in C/C++.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge of GSM Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 protocols.
- Experience with GSM signalling protocols such as LAPDm, RSL, OML, BSSMAP, DTAP, SCCP, MTP3, and SIGTRAN.
- Understanding of 3GPP GSM specifications (TS 04.xx and 05.xx series).
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, and networking concepts.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Desired Candidate Profile Candidates with hands-on experience in GSM BTS/BSC software development, telecom protocol stack implementation, embedded C/C++ programming, and GSM network feature development will be preferred.
