Core Responsibilities

- Patrols & Inspections: Walk or drive through interior and exterior areas on a regular schedule to check for safety hazards, unlocked doors, and suspicious behavior. [1, 2]

- Access Control: Guard entrances and exits, verify employee or visitor identification, issue passes, and manage visitor logs. [1, 2, 3]

- Surveillance Monitoring: Watch CCTV cameras, alarm panels, and security software in real time to spot irregularities. [1, 2]

- Emergency Response: Act quickly during fires, medical crises, disturbances, or security breaches, and coordinate with police, fire, or EMT services. [1, 2]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

- Licenses/Certifications:



Valid state or regional security guard license, plus CPR and First Aid certification (varies by location).

- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to handle visitor questions, write reports, and de-escalate conflicts.

- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand or walk for long periods and respond rapidly to physical events.
