Job Summary

Work as Scientific Officer or technical staff in Blood Centre

Job Profile

- Bleeding of donors.
- Preparing components.
- Take over from previous technician.

- Check blood stock

- Reagent stock

- Completion of registers
- Check and Record temperature of all refrigerators, deep freezers, platelet agitator and incubator.
- Prepare pooled cell as per lab manual.
- Testing of blood bags for HIV, HbsAg, HCV, VDRL and Malarial Parasites as per lab manual.
- Titer of recent Anti-sera.
- Grouping. Cross matching
- Issuing blood bags as per request received.
- Discard of pilot tubes and patient sample after 7 days.
- Dispose of TTD positive bags as per SOP.
- File all the requisitions received.

Qualification

- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Transfusion

Medicine or Blood Bank Technology after 10+2
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (M.L.T.) or Blood Bank Technology
- B.Sc. in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine
- M.Sc. in Transfusion Medicine
- Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PGDMLT)



/ Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (PGDMLS)

Experience

- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Transfusion

Medicine or Blood Bank Technology after 10+2 with one year experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed

Blood centre

- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (M.L.T.) or Blood Bank Technology with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood centre; or
- B.Sc. in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood centre
- M.Sc. in Transfusion Medicine with six month’s experience in the

testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood Centre; or
- Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PGDMLT) / Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science (PGDMLS) with six month’s experience in the testing of blood and/or its components in licensed Blood Centre.”
- FDA approval Mandatory.

Reporting In charge Blood Centre, Medical Officer Blood Centre, Quality Manager Blood Centre, Technical Supervisor.
