Job Title: SAP EDI Consultant (EDI Mapping & IDOC Expert) Working hours: 3-12am IST

Location: Remote

Role Summary

Looking for an experienced SAP EDI Consultant with strong expertise in EDI standards, mappings, and SAP IDOC processing, responsible for managing end-to-end EDI data flows and ensuring accurate integration between SAP and external trading partners.

Core Skills Required

EDI Expertise & Mapping (HIGH PRIORITY)

- Strong understanding of:
- ANSI X12 / EDIFACT standards

- Hands-on experience with transactions:

- 850, 855, 856, 810, 940, 945, 943, 947, 997

- Ability to:

- Understand and validate EDI message structures and mappings
- Analyze and troubleshoot EDI data issues across systems
- Work with mapping logic between:
- External systems / EDI providers
- Middleware
- SAP IDOCs

- Experience in:

- Trading partner onboarding and EDI setup
- Reviewing and validating EDI mapping specifications

SAP IDOC Expertise (MANDATORY)

- Strong hands-on experience in:
- IDOC structures (Basic types, Message types, Segments)
- Inbound and outbound IDOC processing

- Configuration experience:

- Partner profiles (WE20)
- Ports (WE21)

- Monitoring & support:

- WE02 / WE05 for IDOC tracking
- Error handling and reprocessing





IDOC Enhancements & Debugging

- Experience in:
- Enhancing standard IDOCs / creating custom segments
- User exits / BADIs related to IDOC processing

- Basic ABAP knowledge for:

- Debugging and issue resolution

Good to Have

- Exposure to EDI Service Providers like SPS Commerce

Responsibilities

- Own and manage EDI mappings and data flow across systems
- Validate and troubleshoot EDI transactions end-to-end
- Ensure correct mapping between:
- EDI messages Middleware SAP IDOCs

- Configure and maintain IDOC processing in SAP
- Monitor, analyze, and resolve IDOC and EDI-related issues
- Support onboarding of recent trading partners from an EDI perspective
- Collaborate with integration teams to ensure seamless data exchange

- Strong expertise in EDI mappings and transaction flows
- Good knowledge of SAP IDOC processing and troubleshooting
- Ability to understand and validate end-to-end EDI integrations
