Position Title: Safety Officer / EHS Officer

Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Job Summary:

Responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace safety practices, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement and maintain Health, Safety & Environment (HSE/EHS) policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, legal requirements, and company standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and prepare corrective & preventive action reports (CAPA).
- Monitor and ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation as per company requirements.
- Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with departments to improve workplace safety and reduce risks.
- Conduct emergency preparedness activities including fire drills, evacuation drills, and first aid awareness.




- Monitor safety compliance of contractors and vendors working at the site.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist in implementing ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / OHSAS standards (as applicable).
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety performance reports.

Required Skills:

- Knowledge of Industrial Safety, EHS Management, and Occupational Health & Safety practices
- Risk assessment and hazard identification skills
- Knowledge of PPE, Fire Safety, Emergency Management
- Accident investigation and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Knowledge of safety audits and compliance requirements
- Good communication and training skills
- Ability to work with shop floor teams and contractors

Educational Qualification:

- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any relevant discipline
- Diploma in Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH certification preferred
