Role & responsibilities

- Execute daily production plans to achieve targeted output in the Weld Shop.

- Ensure smooth operation of robotic welding cells, spot welding, MIG welding, and projection welding processes.

- Monitor cycle time, productivity, and manpower utilization to achieve production targets.

- Ensure adherence to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity (SQCDP) parameters.

- Minimize welding defects, rework, and rejection through process control and corrective actions.

- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Tool Room, and Production Planning teams for smooth production flow.

- Ensure availability of fixtures, jigs, tools, and welding consumables.

- Analyze line losses and implement continuous improvement activities to improve OEE.

- Monitor weld quality as per customer standards and control plans.

- Lead Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, Lean Manufacturing, and TPM initiatives.

- Train and develop operators for safe and productive shop-floor operations.





- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and workplace safety requirements.

- Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement projects within the weld shop.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering.

- 3-5 years of experience in Automotive Weld Shop operations.

- Hands-on experience in Robotic Welding, Spot Welding, MIG Welding, and BIW manufacturing processes.

- Knowledge of Weld Quality standards, GD&T;, welding parameters, and process control.

- Experience in handling manpower, shift production, and line balancing.

- Good knowledge of TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and OEE improvement.

- Exposure to IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems.

- Strong problem-solving and team management skills.
