About the role

We are hiring an Oracle GoldenGate Administrator to own real-time data replication across Oracle Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. You will design, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot GoldenGate replication for production and non-production databases, and provide hands-on Oracle DBA support for the systems GoldenGate depends on. This is a hands-on technical role with production ownership.

Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade and patch Oracle GoldenGate (Classic and Microservices Architecture) on Exadata and OCI.
- Design and build unidirectional, bidirectional and multi-target replication topologies, including initial loads and conflict detection and resolution.
- Monitor Extract, Pump and Replicat processes; identify and resolve lag, abends, data integrity issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage Exadata and OCI-hosted Oracle databases: storage, RAC and ASM, backups and recovery with RMAN, Data Guard, patching and capacity planning.
- Run production support on a rotation, perform root cause analysis for incidents, and drive permanent fixes.
- Perform migrations and cutovers using GoldenGate, including on-premises to OCI moves with minimal downtime.
- Tune database and replication performance (SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, trail file management, parallelism).
- Automate routine tasks with shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL; maintain runbooks and documentation.
- Apply security standards: encryption of trail files and connections, wallet management, user and role management, audit requirements.
- Work with application, infrastructure and cloud teams to plan changes and release windows.

Required skills and experience

- 4 or more years of Oracle database administration, with at least 2 years dedicated to Oracle GoldenGate administration.




- Strong hands-on experience with GoldenGate 19c or later, including Microservices Architecture, on production workloads.
- Working experience with Oracle Exadata (database machine administration, storage cells, cell offload concepts).
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: Database Cloud Service, Exadata Cloud Service or Autonomous Database, OCI networking basics, and OCI GoldenGate service.
- Core Oracle DBA skills: RAC and ASM, RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard, patching (OPatch, Fleet Patching), user and security management.
- Performance tuning: AWR, ASH, SQL plan analysis, wait event analysis.
- Linux administration and shell scripting; SQL and PL/SQL.
- Comfortable with incident management, on-call rotation and change management processes.
- Transparent written and spoken communication; able to explain replication issues to non-DBA stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

- Oracle certifications: OCP (Database Administration), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect or Database Specialist, GoldenGate certification.
- Experience with heterogeneous replication (Oracle to PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Kafka or big data targets).
- Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager and GoldenGate monitoring tools.
- Experience with Terraform or Ansible for OCI provisioning.
- Prior involvement in a large on-premises to OCI migration program.

Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
