Job Purpose

To assist in the smooth functioning of science laboratories by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for practical sessions, ensuring safety standards, and supporting teachers and students during laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for practical sessions.

- Assist teachers during laboratory demonstrations and experiments.

- Maintain laboratory inventory and stock records.

- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of chemicals and equipment.

- Monitor consumption of laboratory materials and raise requisitions for replenishment.

- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory.

- Conduct routine checks of laboratory instruments and report damages or repairs required.

- Ensure adherence to all laboratory safety guidelines and procedures.

- Maintain records of equipment issue/return and laboratory usage.





- Assist in disposal of laboratory waste as per safety norms.

- Support school events, exhibitions, and science fairs requiring laboratory resources.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) or related field.

- Prior experience in a school or educational laboratory preferred.

Skills Required

- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices.

- Inventory and stock management skills.

- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Valuable communication and coordination skills.

- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office/Google Sheets).

Experience

- 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory support role (preferred).
