Job Summary The Nursing Superintendent will be responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating all nursing services within the hospital. This role involves planning nursing schedules, monitoring clinical protocols, managing nursing staff, maintaining patient care standards, ensuring infection control, and working closely with medical officers and hospital management.

Key Responsibilities

- Nursing Leadership & Supervision: Manage and oversee the entire nursing staff, including Sister In-Charges, Staff Nurses, and Nursing Attendants.
- Staff Management & Duty Roster: Prepare duty rosters, handle staff leave management, and ensure optimal nurse-to-patient ratios across all departments (ICU, OT, OPD, IPD, Emergency).
- Quality & Patient Care: Ensure high standards of patient care, patient safety, hygiene, and ethical nursing practices throughout the hospital.
- Infection Control & Compliance: Oversee infection control policies, biomedical waste management, and ensure strict adherence to hospital protocols and NABH/regulatory standards.
- Training & Development:



Conduct orientation programs for new nurses and regularly arrange training sessions to upgrade clinical skills and patient communication.
- Inventory & Equipment Management: Monitor stock, medicines, and medical equipment in all wards/units, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
- Coordination: Act as a bridge between nursing staff, doctors, administration, and hospital management for smooth operational workflow.
- Grievance & Complaint Handling: Address and resolve patient complaints or staff grievances related to nursing services promptly.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: B.Sc in Nursing / M.Sc in Nursing / GNM with administrative leadership experience.
- Registration: Valid registration with the West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC) or Indian Nursing Council (INC).
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 7+ years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2–3 years in a administrative/supervisory role (such as Assistant Nursing Superintendent or Nursing In-Charge) in a multi-speciality hospital.
- Key Skills:
- Solid leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Deep knowledge of nursing administration, infection control, and emergency care procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Bengali & English proficiency required).
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
