Role Overview

We are seeking an NPD Quality Engineer with 35 years of experience in aerospace or precision engineering. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new products developed by the organization comply with customer, regulatory, and aerospace quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Support quality planning activities in new product development (APQP, PPAP).

- Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.

- Prepare and review DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Validation Plans.

- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.

- Collaborate with design, methods, and manufacturing teams to integrate quality requirements early in development.

- Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for NPD-related issues.

- Ensure traceability, configuration control, and document management for NPD projects.





- Participate in supplier quality activities related to NPD parts/components.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and process capability.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Robust knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100, APQP, PPAP, FAI).

- Experience in using quality tools: FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D.

- Proficiency in GD&T; and interpretation of engineering drawings.

- Exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, composites, assemblies).

- Strong auditing, documentation, and compliance skills.

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical / Aerospace / Industrial Engineering.

- 3–5 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance for New Product Development in aerospace/automotive/precision industry.
