MIS Analyst (Sell-Side Research & Operations) - Associate

Purpose

Provide day-to-day operational ownership of the Research MIS environment across US business hours, supporting reporting, data quality, stakeholder requests and service monitoring. The role forms part of the core MIS service function and works alongside the UK-based MIS analyst to provide resilient coverage across the working day. The role combines operational ownership with strong analytical capability and is expected to understand data structures, investigate issues, produce management information and present insights clearly to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor the health and performance of Research MIS reporting and data services.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies, data-quality issues and stakeholder queries.
- Support reporting across Research Home, Tableau, QlikView and Qlik Sense.
- Produce ad hoc analysis and management information for business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reporting, trackers and analytical models.
- Analyse large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, exceptions and control issues.
- Understand end-to-end data flows and investigate root causes of reporting issues.
- Validate data across multiple systems and reporting sources.
- Coordinate routine remediation with Technology, data owners and operational teams.




- Maintain issue logs, ownership records and service documentation.
- Participate in UK-to-US handovers and manage open actions during US hours.
- Identify recurring issues, manual workarounds and opportunities for improvement.
- Escalate material or persistent issues in accordance with agreed escalation criteria.
- Support operational acceptance of current reporting and analytics solutions.

Required Background:

Essential

- 3 to 5 years of overall professional experience.
- Advanced Excel expertise.
- Strong analytical and data investigation skills.
- Experience developing dashboards, MI packs and management reporting.
- Ability to understand complex data models and reporting logic.
- Experience reconciling and validating data across multiple systems.
- Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex data issues in business terms.
- High attention to detail and strong control mindset.

Desirable

- SQL knowledge.
- Qlik Sense, QlikView or Tableau experience.
- Financial services experience (preferably Investment Banking Domain).
- Experience supporting management information, operational reporting or business intelligence functions.
